"Thy Word Is Truth: Part Three"
Psalms 119 v 17-24
"Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. 18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 19 I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. 20 My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times. 21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments. 22 Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. 23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. 24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors."
Lord of heaven and earth praise your holy name, for being the rock of our salvation. Many things change throughout this earthly life, only one thing stays eternally the same, Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today, and forever. As life throughs a plethora of ever shifting events that keep our frail human natures in unrest, we can turn to you for unity, consistency and eternal hope. Guide us this day and every day in Jesus blessed name. Amen…
Today we continue the study of Psalms 119…….

The Third Division of this Psalm is Gimel.
David realizes Satan and the evils of this world will do anything to hinder a person’s sincere desire to obey and keep God’s Word. So he prays that God would remove all hindrances to LOVING obedience of the Word.
V 17... Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
With your grace and mercy Lord save me and give me the strength and power to obey your Word. Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit living within the “born again” believer IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP GOD’S WORD!!!
***Only in salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can anyone have eternal life!!!
Life comes through Jesus Christ and Him alone…
John 14 v 6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
V 18… Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Lord God open my eyes THAT I MAY SEE AND UNDERSTAND YOUR HOLY WORD. Help me to see how glorious and awesome YOUR WORD IS. Put that sparkle in my eyes that DECLARES THE JOY OF KNOWING, UNDERSTANDING, and the PLEASURE OF LOVING YOUR SACRED WRIT!!!
Let me see thy perfect wisdom and equity of your inerrant, infallible Word the Bible…….
V 19… I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
Far from perfect am I, are we, of man’s fallen nature; we are born strangers to your will and Word, SHOW ME I PRAY THY COMMANDMENTS OF PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS…
Keep me strong and full of your grace and mercy through your Words of salvation…….
Should I frequently be destitute of your ordinances, LEAVE ME NOT WITHOUT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT’S TEACHING…….
V 20… My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
My soul is so imperfect and full of infirmities, I rigorously desire to focus on your judgments and to possess them as reality in my life at all times…
Oh dear Lord help me to live each moment of my life for you and in sincere and joyous LOVE for your holy Bible…
Make me thine Oh Lord…
Make me thine…….
Let my fervor and zeal be for YOU and YOUR MAGNIFICENT WORD…
V 21… Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
Let not the pride of my heart curse me, let not my worldly understanding deceive me; humble me that I may know to seek and obey your Word continuously. Let not this world’s wisdom lie to me, LET ME SEE and KNOW YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM ALWAYS!!
V 22… Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
This world laughs at me and has utter contempt for my person because I LOVE you and keep you and your Word first in my life. I know I do right in LOVING you and obeying your supreme Word, stop the enemy from attempting to destroy me…
I LOVE ALL YOUR TESTAMONIES!!!!!!!
V 23… Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
Even the Princes and powers that be of this world seek to destroy me and wish to completely obliterate my witness in your Word. The trials and problems of this world seek to extinguish my faith and genuine trust in your holy, holy, holy Word. Finances, problems with my spouse, kids, family, friends and co-workers, neighbors, and even Church members desire to unravel my complete confidence in you and your holy Bible; YET I WILL CONTIOUSLY MEDITATE ON YOUR WORD, WITH YOUR OMNIPOTENTANT HELP I WILL NEVER DENY YOUR WORD…….
Thy Word IS TRUTH!!!!!!!
V 24… Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
I will always delight in your Word, my true pleasure is in reading and obeying your Word, my only righteous and perfect and complete counsel COMES FROM YOUR WORD, THE BIBLE!!!!!!!
Thy Word is TRUTH, THE ONLY REAL TRUTH…………………..
For those who believe otherwise are greatly deceived…
*******Every one of us will be known for something when we are gone from this earthly life. Do you know what I pray my family, friends, and acquaintances’ will say about me? THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. I want those who knew me best to honestly be able to say: “That man’s life was centered in the only message that really matters, that of what the Bible says”…….
May the grace and Word of God be with us always……………….
